Week 9 Entry

This week in class we focused on two key areas. First, preparing for an informational interview with an entrepreneur of our choice and studying the principles of disciple leadership. Both of these topics have provided valuable insights that will impact my personal growth and future career. The first part of the week involved crafting thoughtful interview questions for an entrepreneur. The goal is to gain real world insights into their journey, challenges, and strategies for success. This exercise has helped me refine my ability to ask meaningful, open ended, probing, and confirmation questions, all skills that are not only useful for this interview but also crucial in my sales role and future business endeavors. Learning to extract valuable information through well structured questions is essential for building relationships, identifying opportunities, and making informed decisions. The second part of the coursework focused on disciple leadership, a concept that emphasizes leading with integrity, humility, and service. Through videos and readings, I learned how true leadership is about influencing others through example rather than authority. This principle resonates with me because, as a business development representative, trust and credibility are at the core of what I do. Leading with integrity and focusing on serving others will strengthen my ability to connect with clients, build lasting relationships, and create value. Looking ahead, these lessons will shape both my career and personal life. Conducting effective informational interviews will help me continuously learn from others, while embracing disciple leadership will guide me in building a career based on trust, service, and long term success over the course of my career. This week has reinforced the idea that leadership isn’t just about personal achievement but it’s about lifting others along the way. In the end, this is what Jesus taught, to yoke with those around us to the plough and make this journey not as superiors and inferiors, but all members of the body of Christ.
